We always look towards the end of the year with much excitement and gladness. It is a time of rest and relaxation after a whole year of working hard and smart to achieve our goals. As an organization, we also take this as a time to reflect on our achievements over the year and look to plan for the next year. Most organizations do this via an end year party as a way to celebrate the staff, one of the greatest resources of any company. In 2015, MODE went beyond having the conventional staff party.
Celebrating 5 years of innovation and state of the art financial technology systems required a night of pomp and glamour. All roads led to Kempinski Hotel in Nairobi on 18th December 2015 as close to 300 staff members, their families and invited guests went to celebrate 5 years of infinite possibilities.
Partners such as Airtel, Chase Bank and Safaricom spoke with great passion on the impact MODE has had in their companies, the fintech industry and the society at large.
‘’For Airtel, it has been an honour and a pleasure to be a part of this great story…We now work together in multiple countries across our 17 operations in all of Africa. We continue to explore opportunities for us to work together and to cement this partnership, ‘’said Bernard Muteti, Director of Enterprise and Wholesale Business at Airtel Kenya.
An incorporation of the MODE brand colour, orange, and the globally recognized gemstone for 5 Year anniversaries, pink tourmaline made the event colourful and cheerful. Some of the highlights of the night were best dressed awards, a vibrant band and DJ, karaoke and comedy.
However, the greatest moment of joy was when some of the employees received individual awards for a job well done beyond the ordinary.
In his speech, co-founder and chief commercial director of MODE, Josphat Kinyua expressed that he would describe MODE in 2 words: trust, hope and faith. JulianKyula, CEO of MODE, retorted in his closing remarks that whatever MODE innovates, it doesn’t do it just for Kenya but for the world.
